Welcome to The Original Super Cupar Photoshoot Tour.

A unique, first of its kind activity offered to locals, visitors and aspiring models.

Following a test shoot I did with model Kyle Moran last September I discovered just what an outstanding town Cupar is to shoot in, with a variety of backdrops and environments to capture natural and action portraits in. This town, more than 800 years old, has a fantastic mix of old walls, mature trees and urban landscape to create a truly delightful body of work.

Loosely following the Cupar Heritage Trail, The Original Super Cupar Photoshoot Tour will visit the following stops:

1. Fluthers and edge of Haugh Park
We begin by meeting at Fluthers Car Park, Once called Fluthers Bog, this area could be flooded by the Lady Burn. It has always been a public open space belonging to the town, with various uses including a cattle market and fairground. We head from here across the road and along the edge of Haugh Park, for our first shooting opportunity. This pavement offers an opportunity for a documentary sequence, and possible posed shots along the wall which acts as the border to Haugh Park.

2. Haugh Park or Cart Haugh
Haugh Park is public land belonging to the people of Cupar, and its riverside location, coupled with the abundant greenery provides a classic backdrop for a photoshoot.
3. Crossgate
The Crossgate is at the very heart of Cupar Town Centre, and provides a great environment for documentary style portraits, and street photography. Ferguson Square and a number of alleyways off the Crossgate might seem innocuous but you should take time to look at what is around you, because, as shown below, we can create some inspiring work here.
4. Kirk wynd
Kirk wynd leads onto Kirkgate, and you really get a feel for Cupar's religious past and present here with potential for stunning urban backdrops as seen below. From here we progress up Kirk wynd to Provost wynd and down on to Bonnygate, opposite the spectacular St John's Church.
5. St John's Church

The gardens at the front of the imposing structure of St John's Church create a spiritual setting for the next leg of the Super Cupar Photoshoot Tour, with mature trees, flowers and a green environment adjacent to one of Cupar's busiest roads.
6. Moat hill

From St John's Church we walk alongside and round the back of the building towards Moat hill. We cross the road and turn left, for the first of what could be several shooting spots. The three shots below implement the boundary walls of the road and the hill, which make for a sensational backdrop and an critical element to the photograph. We can then walk up on the hill, utilising the views across the town as a backdrop and the many mature trees for the next stage of the shoot before heading down towards the ladyburn for the final shots of the tour.
