The Swilcan Bridge

The World Famous Swilcan Bridge is often the starting point for The Original St Andrews Photoshoot Tour, but each tour can be tailored to your needs. The bridge is believed to be more than 600 years old and is said to have originally been a 'packhorse bridge' a style of bridge that traditionally consisted of one horse wide masonry arches, with low parapets, designed so as not to cause issues with the side bags or ‘panniers’ which were loaded on the ‘packhorses’ being led over the bridge
